For more than 30 years, Nathan has represented individuals, partnerships, limited liability companies, public and privately held corporations, and non-profits in a range of transactional matters – in Michigan, throughout the U.S., and around the world. In the business arena, he counsels clients from formation to divestiture and dissolution, advising them on legal and non-legal issues that impact their growth, people, and the bottom line. He possesses a wealth of experience in lending matters, representing both lenders and borrowers with asset- and real estate-based transactions, for both senior and subordinated debt financing, with additional experience in venture capital. He has also represented clients in mergers and acquisitions of varying transaction sizes, including those with a purchase price or value in excess of $100 million.
In the real estate area, Nathan advises local and national commercial and residential builders, developers, banks and commercial lenders, mortgage brokers, and commercial and residential real estate brokers, as well as condominium associations, homeowners, and tenants. He has participated in an array of projects involving single- and multi-family housing, condominiums, commercial and office buildings, retail and shopping centers, industrial parks, and manufacturing facilities.
A proud Wolverine, Nathan obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, where he was a James Angell Scholar, a Branstrom Freshman Prize Winner, and a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. After graduating with high distinction, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
