Because of the close relationships Mischa Boardman has with her clients, she works even harder to deliver the best possible results in their business disputes, commercial litigation, and eminent domain matters.

She can achieve these outcomes because she knows her clients, their business strategies, and can tailor the legal strategy to support and accommodate their goals. She invests herself deeply and personally – for her, the client’s problem is her problem.

Mischa is adept at taking on complicated issues, distilling them to their simplest forms, and developing practical strategies to drive the solutions her client desires. Her communications require no prompting. Anticipating their needs, Mischa ensures her clients have the right information at the right time to align internal and external stakeholders with the latest information available and, more importantly, knows how it impacts their strategy. She is process-driven and knows how to navigate issues fluidly to instill peace of mind. She creates a seamless interface with her clients to reduce stress and unnecessary activities.

Perhaps the best example of Mischa’s abilities and talents is seen in her representation of the nation’s largest independent electric transmission company. To build its infrastructure and expand the service it offers its customers, Mischa and her team of attorneys worked arm-in-arm with the company over several years to help it grow and achieve its short- and long-term objectives.

Mischa has represented individuals, municipalities, and companies across a variety of industries, including publicly traded REITs, Fortune 500 corporations, and small businesses in commercial, property, construction, intellectual property and eminent domain disputes. We all have blind spots and Mischa makes it her mission to identify them and prevent or avert unwelcome surprises. Simply put, Mischa has your back.

Mischa has also garnered the respect of her peers in the practice. In August 2015, Michigan Lawyers Weekly selected Mischa for its annual class of “Women in the Law,” an honor recognizing her professional accomplishments, commitment to her clients, charitable and community involvement, and the new trails she has blazed for women in law and business. She has been a named Michigan Top Lawyer and a Michigan Super Lawyer, and frequently speaks to industry associations and professional groups on legal topics.

Throughout her entire legal career, Mischa has called Zausmer, August & Caldwell home, and considers herself fortunate to collaborate with a team of the smartest, most dedicated, and most talented attorneys she knows and the clients whose trust they earn every day. Among her management responsibilities, she leads the firm’s marketing and associate development efforts.

Mischa earned her undergraduate degree with honors, from the University of Michigan, where she was also a James Angell Scholar. She remained in Ann Arbor for law school, earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2000.

An avid Wolverine football and basketball fan, Mischa continues to live in Ann Arbor with her husband and two daughters.
