Katelyn enjoys the variety that litigation offers, the daily demands of each case, and the opportunity to think fast on her feet in the courtroom. She strives to be a trusted resource to her clients, ready to tell them what they need to know about an issue or case when they need to know it.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from Central Michigan University, Katelyn earned her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. She gained practical experience outside the classroom as a student attorney with the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Project, appearing at administrative hearings and arguing an appeal in Wayne County Circuit Court. She also clerked for a defense firm during her final year, eventually joining the firm as an associate after passing the bar exam.
Before joining Zausmer, August & Caldwell, Katelyn was Field Counsel with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she gained first-chair trial experience and managed a substantial caseload of no-fault and automobile negligence matters, while also supervising other attorneys and paralegals.
Outside the office, Katelyn is a self-professed foodie and avid cook, and she and her husband brew their own craft beer.
