Operation Good Cheer 2016

At Zausmer the holiday season begins when the Operation Good Cheer truck pulls up to our door to collect the mountain of toys, bicycles, clothes, and small “wish list” items. It’s a tradition we’ve welcomed for the last nine years.

Near and dear to our hearts, Operation Good Cheer is an all-volunteer Christmas gift-giving program for abused and neglected children presently living in placement facilities across our state. Each August, Child & Family Services of Michigan (CFSM) sends us descriptions of kids in the program, and Zausmer attorneys and staff review profiles and choose boys and girls to sponsor. We then purchase, wrap, and tag gifts that CFSM collects in early December in time for holiday delivery.

Through a combination of Casual for a Cause collections and the generosity of individual members of the Zausmer family, this year we’re sponsoring 114 children – a new record for us – whose lives we hope to make a little happier, merrier, and brighter. The pictures below and the video of last year’s efforts offer a glimpse of how the firm comes alive when the Operation Good Cheer truck arrives.

We invite you to learn more about Operation Good Cheer and the ways you, too, can support its activities with your time and donations.
