Laura obtained her undergraduate degree, with distinction, from the University of Michigan, double-majoring in English Language & Literature and Political Science. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law and was and remains a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society.
