After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Josh attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he earned various academic honors and served as senior editor of the Jurisprudence Review before graduating cum laude. During his third year, he participated in the New York Regulatory & Business Externship, working for a semester at the offices of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in Manhattan and prompting him to consider in-house opportunities.
After law school, Josh relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where he served as counsel for Fidelity National Title Group. There, he quickly became responsible for managing a large docket of cases from across the country that involved breach of contract, breach of warranty, fraud, negligence, and other disputes. Working closely with local counsel, he helped craft winning theories, prepare appeals, and appear on behalf of the company in settlement negotiations, mediation and arbitration proceedings, and trial.
During his tenure with Fidelity, Josh tallied several substantial victories totaling millions of dollars. After moving back to Michigan, he joined Zausmer, August & Caldwell, where he now utilizes his real estate and litigation oversight background as part of the firm’s condemnation practice.
Outside the office, Josh is an avid golfer, a sports fanatic, and a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
