Dan had an early start to his legal career, working as a filing clerk in high school and while earning his undergraduate degree in Marketing at Michigan State University. He then pursued his law degree at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley School of Law, receiving several academic honors before graduating magna cum laude. In addition to his law school classes, he worked in overlapping clerkships with a large insurance defense firm and the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) law department.
Since passing the bar in 2011, Dan has defended and overseen the defense of a variety of matters involving medical malpractice, insurance coverage disputes, automobile negligence, and first- and third-party claims, experience he gained at outside firms and as an in-house insurance claims specialist.
In addition to his discovery and motion practice talents, Dan is particularly adept at medical record reviews and has frequently demonstrated an ability to conduct effective depositions of physicians and experts based upon his knowledge of the medicine involved in a case. His written advocacy capabilities, honed during his years as an appellate attorney, have resulted in several successful summary disposition rulings and favorable opinions from the Michigan Court of Appeals.
