Crain’s Detroit Business Features Gary August in Special “Litigators” Report

Gary August Litigator

Clients, judges, and opposing counsel know what an outstanding lawyer Gary August is. Thanks to a recent article, readers of Crain’s Detroit Business in Michigan and elsewhere now know of his prowess in and out of the courtroom.

In its special report, “The Litigators,” Crain’s spotlighted 14 leading attorneys behind some of our state’s most important lawsuits. The piece is the result of extensive research, interviews, and investigation into “the cases that matter in the Michigan business community today.”

Reporter Chad Halcom highlighted just a few of the noteworthy cases in which Gary has been involved, including:

  • His representation of Wayne County in litigation over its failed and widely publicized Consolidated Jail Project
  • His defense of the Wayne County Airport Authority over a new schedule of bus service pickups
  • His defense of the City of Dearborn in a putative class-action lawsuit against challenges to its method of water usage calculations
  • His service as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the Michigan Department of Transportation in any prospective litigation involving the planned Gordie Howe International Bridge development
  • His work for New York investment group Image Capital LLCin its acquisition of the Riverfront Towers apartment buildings $79.5 million, including resolution of a dispute over a debt transfer preceding the sale

Of course, these are only a mere handful of the many matters Gary has handled for clients in Michigan and across the country.

Congratulations, Gary, on this well-deserved recognition!
